Newburyport Pride Parade Rules, Terms & Conditions
1. Newburyport Pride requests that each registration group have a designated primary contact for all parade committee communication and event coordination
2. You are strongly encouraged to use Signs/Banners/Logos for your group. Since Newburyport Pride is a positive, uplifting organization & this event is family-friendly, we ask that you please be respectful – no messages of hate or shame towards peoples of different views, no offensive or adult language, and if possible, try to keep messaging positive.
3. No items can be thrown to the crowds lining the street. Items can be given out during the parade, but they must be physically handed to people lining the street.
4. Participants are encouraged to dress to impress. Inappropriate attire is not allowed during the event. This includes revealing undergarments or costumes.
5. Please keep a safe distance between your group and others, approx. 20 feet, and keep this distance throughout the parade
6. Please do not engage any protestors. They may be there, but please respect their freedom of speech.
7. Alcohol or drug use is strictly forbidden
8. Bullhorns, megaphones and confetti are prohibited.
9. There are restroom facilities at the END of the parade route, but NOT at the beginning. Please plan accordingly
10. Nothing can be left at the set-up area at Bartlett Mall. Please take all belongings with you (including trash).
11. Any performances or routines must be performed while moving forward within the Parade (no stopping)
12. Participating children below the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times
13. No motorized vehicles or other motorized elements are allowed (without prior approval). HAVE FUN!!
HOLD HARMLESS & RELEASE: In consideration of participation in the Newburyport Pride Parade, I hereby release and forever discharge Newburyport Pride, the City, its officers, agents, employees and representatives from any and all actions, demands and whatsoever in law or equity that the undersigned, its successors or assigns, ever had, now have, or may have in the future in connection with the undersigned's participation in this event.
