Introducing the Newburyport Pride Queer History Book Club!
A key part of Newburyport Pride’s mission from the very beginning has been education, so this opportunity to educate and engage has been a dream of ours for a long time. We are excited to invite the community to join us as we explore topics in LGBTQ+ history through nonfiction and fiction together!
To start, we aim to have one book discussion each quarter throughout the year - April (spring), July (summer), October (fall - LGBTQ+ history month!) & January (winter). Our first book discussion will be scheduled for spring 2026. Stay tuned for the book announcement. Sign up below to make sure you are on the Pride email list and follow us on Facebook or Instagram so you do not miss updates.
How does it work? We will announce a book title and the date/time/location of the upcoming discussion here on the website, via email and on our social media. You will have approximately 4-6 weeks to buy and read the book. We encourage you to buy your book club books locally or borrow from your local library. We’ll ask you to RSVP to have an idea of the number of people to expect, but walk-ins are totally fine.
