  • Pride Prayers & Parade Blessing

Our friends at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 High Street in Newburyport, will be offering inclusive and affirming prayers and a Parade blessing for participants before they head across the street to the Bartlett Mall to line up for the Newburyport Pride Parade on June 6.

All are welcome and invited to begin the day in reflection, thanksgiving, and healing as we rejoice in God’s love of the LGBTQ+ community and embrace of all people. This brief prayer service starting at 10.30 am will last about twenty minutes and give everyone plenty of time to prepare for the Parade.

Our friends at The Screening Room are partnering with Congregation Ahavas Achim to bring the film Sabbath Queen to the big screen. The film follows Rabbi Amichai Lau-Lavie's epic journey from dynastic heir of 38 generations of Orthodox rabbis to drag-queen rebel, queer bio-dad, and founder of Lab/Shul -- an everybody-friendly, God-optional, artist-driven, pop-up experimental congregation in NYC. Filmed over 21 years, it's quite a story.
