Call for Applications: Newburyport Pride Scholarship for LGBTQ+ Students

The Newburyport Pride Scholarship supports LGBTQIA+ students in their pursuit of post-secondary educational opportunities. We recognize the resilience, leadership, and creativity that LGBTQIA+ youth bring to their communities and are proud to invest in their academic and professional growth.

This scholarship is open to all LGBTQIA+ students who are planning to attend a college, university, technical school, or other accredited post-secondary educational opportunity in the upcoming academic year. Whether you are entering your first year or continuing your studies, we welcome your application.

Eligibility:

  • Identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community,

  • Be a youth (23 years or younger),

  • Be a resident of Newburyport or surrounding communities (Newbury, West Newbury, Salisbury, Amesbury, Rowley or Georgetown),

  • Be enrolled in (or accepted and planning to enroll in) an accredited post-secondary educational opportunity, and

  • Demonstrate a combination of academic potential, community involvement, and leadership experience

Process:

Submit a completed application, including: 

  • responses to three questions (maximum 500 words each)

  • name of a teacher, mentor, or community leader who will write you a letter of recommendation

Award Amount:
$1,275 (multiple awards may be available)

March 1, 2026

Application Deadline:
Applications due: May 15, 2026
Letters of recommendations due: June 1, 2026
