Newburyport Pride 2026 Window Display Contest

You’re invited to join Newburyport Pride in the 4th annual Window Display Contest!

Why participate

During Newburyport Pride (June 4-7), residents and visitors will be exploring downtown Newburyport to participate in activities including the annual Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, June 6. Displaying your Pride visually in your storefront during this time helps to communicate your support of the local LGBTQIA+ community. You will join a community movement promoting allyship, diversity, inclusion, and acceptance in our beautiful port city.

The Pride Window Display Contest map will detail which businesses are participating in the contest, which will generate more foot traffic going to your business as participants tour the windows in order to vote for their favorite window. Last year we had over 1,500 votes, meaning an extra 1,500 walking around and seeing your shop!

How to participate

Create a window or window facing display relating to LGBTQIA+ Pride! Be creative and think as big as you would like, just make sure you meet the requirements outlined below. This year’s theme is “Rainbow Harbor” and taglines for the year include “visibility matters” and “Pride has no borders”. You are welcome (but not required) to use any or all of these to inspire your display. The winning business will be announced in a special social media post during the week of June 8. We will also write a press release for the Newburyport Daily News.

Requirements:

You must fill out the online form to be included on the map of participating businesses and to be on the voter ballot

The display must be LGBTQIA+ Pride themed, however you interpret it

The display must be appropriate for voters of all ages

Displays must be up from June 2 through June 7. Although it is not required, we strongly encourage businesses to keep displays up for the entire month of June to honor LGBTQIA+ Pride Month!
